Arsenal youngster Kelechi Nwakali has shared a picture of himself frying Garri in his village as he relaxes after a decent season in Europe.
The Nigerian under-17 star took to the social media to share the picture alongside a caption: ‘Went to the village today to do the things I know how to do the things I enjoy doing it was fun you will know if you have been in the village good to be back’
Nwakali who is currently on loan at Dutch side MVV Maastricht, joined Premier League giants, Arsenal following his heroics at the under-17 World Cup, winning the Golden Boot for goalscorin displays as Nigeria lifted the trophy.
Following his move to Arsenal, the 19-year-old revealed how football legend, Nwankwo Kanu called him to tell the Gunners’ interest.
He said: “Kanu called me [after the U-17 World Cup] and said Arsenal wanted me; that the boss [Arsene Wenger] called him about me.
“He’s [Kanu] been my mentor, a brother and a friend. He advised me to go and develop and prove who I am. He is my mentor and a friend. He calls me every day and I get advice from him every time.
“From a young age I’ve dreamt of playing for Arsenal. I think God made it easy for me because that has been my dream team.”
